By accessing or playing Shards of Stone ("the Game", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Shards of Stone is a free-to-play, web-based real-time strategy game. The Service includes the game itself, user accounts, cloud save functionality, multiplayer features, and any related services or content we provide. The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified, updated, or discontinued at any time.
Creating an account is optional. You may play as a guest without registration. If you choose to create an account:
Guest players can access and play Shards of Stone without providing any personal information. Guest game progress is stored locally in your browser. We are not responsible for loss of guest data due to browser cache clearing, device changes, or other local storage events. To preserve your progress across devices, you may create an account at any time.

All content in Shards of Stone, including but not limited to graphics, sprites, sounds, music, code, game mechanics, and text, is the property of Shards of Stone or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.
If the Service allows you to submit content (e.g., chat messages, usernames), you retain ownership of your content but grant Shards of Stone a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and must not post content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes on others' rights.
In multiplayer games, you agree to treat other players with respect. We reserve the right to moderate, restrict, or remove access to multiplayer features for players who engage in toxic behaviour, including but not limited to: verbal abuse, intentional griefing, match manipulation, or persistent unsportsmanlike conduct.
We strive to keep Shards of Stone available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of the Service, including game features, units, and balance changes, at any time without liability.
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time. Upon termination or deletion:
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHARDS OF STONE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (WHICH, FOR A FREE SERVICE, IS ZERO).
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shards of Stone and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Shards of Stone operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through the courts of the applicable jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shards of Stone regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
